Part 2! Survival for the fittest!!

Since i got some internet, i have been like a crazy kid and all i did yesterday after orientation was FaceTime the love of my life, it was amazing, it was like oh wow! Like i had come from some village in my Africa, flew miles away and then saw them in my room! Right infront of my screen! We gotta give it up for Steve Jobs! Apple was the best thing that happened to me/us.. Ooh is this crap now?, are you only interested on how my move to this conservative country is going? Forget my mesmerized heart and read on..but you do know how it is when you are mesmerized right? When the arrow goes right through? Right? No? Never mind...

shot from my bedroom window!

Waking up to sunny weather was the best feeling!, the blue skies and the smell of dust from the dessert! A quick sip of Arabian tea, which was absolutely tasty, dressed loosely like the 80's and  hit the compound looking to buy an Abaya! The feel of wind breeze on my toes was blissfull! Sandles and red coloured toes! When you come from frozen countries, you appreciate these kind of privillages.

I find one stand, they are selling all these cheap makeup, i dont understand why you wear all that makeup if no one sees anything of you except your eyes! Sorry, that was uncalled for, its like asking why i wear underwear? No? Yes? I settled into buying my Abaya, not like you have lots to choose from cos everything is black! Some two smiley looking girls from om Newzealand jumped right into my conversation with the seller! And just like that! I made my 1st friends! We went for dinner, and have been mostly together and calling each others extensions since sunday! See, all you need is an outgoing attitude and you will always flow along! We are all away from home and our loved ones, having each other has been consoling and giving company.

Hospital tower, blue skies!

We started our orientation! When they say this is a working nation! They mean it, straight from day one, we have been having lectures on hospital policy! Saudi Arabia do's and don'ts! Exams, and registering in all hospital stuff! We have signed to no alcohol policy! Conservative dressing policy! Single ladies not to be seen with men! If you are caught with one , you have to produce your marriage license, no female driving policy! I wonder why, and the men drive like teenagers here, women would actually do a better job!
Learning how to wear hijab( headscarf)

Broke one rule already! Met the Nurses from Finland last Tuesday for dinner, wonderful restaurant! I was really glad to meet them, gave me an insight of how it was gonna be, but we had guys too on our table and no marriage certificates!

Week 1 gone and having passed my 1st exams(very few did), I was excited and our group went out for traditional dinner! We are so far having a busy but wonderful time! I journey on as it comes
:-)
All set!
