Adhios Summer! Hello Fall......

That must have the the hottest summer in a long time, i didn’t follow up with weather news so forgive me for publishing fake news, i hope the Trump wrath will not be fall me! I don’t think so though, cause we haven’t build any walls in Finland! Atleast not yet, and no plans hopefully!

The sun shone and warmed the comfort of our skins, sometimes it had that kind of heat that tickles the skin. It gave us tans even when some of us were on 100 spf! There was no way around it! We fought but the sun fought back stronger forcing on its agenda,  got me using terms like Melanin Popping as i hashtagged for the gram!! Oh Yes! I feel so accomplished to have used a hastag this summer! And even more accomplished to have used gram today! These younglings will be the death of us! What is generation hashtag again? Millineals?

What a welcome back to the country! Last summer was my 1st summer in Finland after 3 years away and it seems the Middle East weather followed me here! Brought on soaring temparatures and many happy Finns! Not that Finns aren’t happy considering they were voted most happy people in the world earlier this year. Finns do not associate happiness with laughter and smiling like some people think! It’s more about the comfort of life, the peace of mind and a wonderful social system, but these summer brought out the smiles and the laughter! Beautiful tonned and tanned almost naked bodies( which my African mother considers nude! Lol, forgive her )! 

The Summer Finns are completely different from Winter Finns. For the first time in my many years in Finland, my 80 something year old neighbour knocked on my door and welcomed me to the building! I immedietly thought it must be the summer wave but i will be sure to let you know if i judged her wrong once the winter is over!

Fall is here, the most beautiful season of the year. And why not when all we can see around are pumpkins! Halloween is also around the corner when people can live for a day in their true self and let out the hidden jezebels we dont know! Enjoy the lovely colours! Enjoy the smell of leaves in an earthly kind of way! Eat the apples that have dropped off the trees! TaKe alot of lovely cosy photos! Look forward to cosy evenings! Drink lots of Tea and Red wine! Do not let this season pass you by as you stress about the cold !

PS: the only issues i have with Autumn is When you have to rake the leaves off your backyard! It does not sound too amazing at that point!

Empower the girl child!

what is it that comes to my mind when i think about the girl child? Alot i could say! Alot! Me having being one of them, it saddens me how the girl child comes out as! well, sometimes we enjoy it we cant say we dont( esp for attention lovers! like me! ha!). Depending on which part of the world you grow up in and the way communities have valued the girl child. I was over the moon when saudi agreed to send the female team to the olympics(hands up men! good job well done). To believe that a woman's place is somewhere, at home, taking care of husband and children while the men explore the world is a totally unfair thing! Imagine the pressure on those women, to shine and show the world that they deserved that after fighting for long! And down in history it will go, that women did participate in the olympics and am soo glad it starts from here! I am glad our mothers fought for some things, but woe unto us, we are still fighting to liberate ourselves. To know that we can do something!...

Mamma: Fare thee well; our fallen Hero!

I met you just about 5 years ago, i remember that day clearly, a stormy snowy November Evening. We had driven to Perniö through this shit storm. You had waited for a while to meet me, so excited your daughter had found love again. You couldn't wait and had called a few times trying to find out how far we were. I was quite nervous on the other hand, i thought of the petty stupid things, i thought of my colour and my presentation and wondered if you would approve. I was anxious for nothing as you proved to me..silly me.. Then we arrived, butterflies filled my tummy!
