My dress my choice!.. Then what?

2 weeks and I am still a disturbed woman, after following up the news about #mydressmychoice Kenya, reading through social media and discussing with friends on the sad incidence of a young woman stripped naked for wearing a short skirt, I still have no understanding on how grown ass men, sorry! boys i meant, come up with group decision to strip a woman because their small stupid minds agree in unison that they are indecent. Dare one to raise a finger when he's alone and he could pee on himself.

This story reminded me of what happened last few months in another town, last few years in another. It happens,  we then chant, walk, sing, protest and later calm down. Then? wait for a next time? I am sorry but my choice will have to be emphasized in a more serious manner! Where do I buy pepper spray? What am i allowed to carry in the streets of Kenya to protect myself from perverted idlers? How do i crush their balls?

I was really thinking about the survivirors, none of us who have never gone through it can really understand what kind of trauma and depression it causes! Being paraded naked infront of a group of screaming men! 💀One could die of shock right there and then! And this affects the victims for the rest of their lives!

I say protect yourselves women, know your town and know it well.  We all know where all these stupids are located, be carefull when you walk there, change route, walk with a friend or better if you have a car, drive! I know you will all start the we have every right to walk anywhere and they have no right to touch you, but believe me it is most difficult to deal with a stupid brain! You just cant get anything into those brains! unless your goverment decides to stand up for you and have them jailed. Before that happens, be clever and protect yourself or prevent it from happening to you whichever way. Do not wait to be the next, thinking that the women will walk for you! Yes, women will continue to walk for rights of the girl child but Kenya has a long way to go! Be sharp. Do not let yourself be humiliated!

Lastly, and this has nothing to do with those hooligans. Dress accordingly! Know your body shape and the kind of clothes that go with it! Most importantly the Age that goes with it! A small skirt to the mid thighs looks decent on a small to medium bodied woman and honestly it will not look the same on a bigger woman, and no we do not want to see your paradise or wheather it's cultivated or trimmed when you bend! It's disgusting and earns you no points! Save it for the club! Same case with bottom cracks! Cover them and save our eyes the disgust. It's very out of class.

When you see people in developed countries walking free and in all short things possible, don't do it at home! Some of us, when we come to Kenya, we leave them here or limit them to the times we are driving or going out! We hope that one day it will be as easy as in developed countries.

Always remember you are a woman walking in a developing country with unfortunately not as many developing minds! Keep safe! Keep walking!
