DINO BIG PAWS- My Adoption Story.

Sometime in 2015, I was born, I have no idea of my mum or human mum and dad because somewhere in 2016, the human damped me in the streets of Abu Dhabi. The humans that had fed me later disowned me, but if humans disown other humans, I figure they can be quite cruel to animals too. Shame....

I had never been on the streets before, my life was not for the streets like the ninja cats i found there. I retrieved into my little corner and started withering, dehydrating, malnourishing, I could feel my intestines twisting as my body yearned for food, my beautiful fur fell off and I started dying slowly. I could feel life leaping out of me, gush by gush. My small body was letting go. I thought the deal was sealed and that judgement day was coming...I wondered what I would be judged for, how I will lay my case since I didn't get to build one.

Then, as luck would have it, a loving and compassionate human saw me on the streets, she cuddled me, I hesitated, I did not trust the humans. Eventually she took me to the vet, where they cleaned me, treated me and the journey began to make me better, the future was still so blink because adoption in Abu Dhabi wasn't very common. After I was dismissed from the Vet's, this woman took me to her home, where she had many other cats that she was caring for. She was a hero to the cat family. However, I was very scared of even other cats, cos the ninja cats I had met on the streets were mean to me. I withdrew and hid in the bathroom. That woman tried to engage me but I was so scared, so she set out to find a more comfortable home for me. That's how I first met my Foster mum who later became mummy.

Foster mum lived with another human who was bit scared, but together they build me up. They fed me, played with me, rubbed me, let me lie on them for hours and them took up the biggest challenge of all when it was medicine time. You know I was still on antibiotics and the doctor had described those small tablets, why the hell do they prescribe tablets for cats, what makes them think we will allow humans to easily give us meds. It was the human-cat game-fight during medicine time, but these determined two women always won the battle. They tricked me.

When fostering time was over, these mummies could not give me up so they officially adopted me. My life began. Every day when each of them would walk through the door from work, I would be there waiting, and we played and cuddled. They got me to love and trust humans again.

Then one day, I heard them discuss that they will take me to Finland, a far away cold country, they worried I might not adjust to the winter, but i knew i would be okay wherever they are. The most scary part was the airport, too noisy, too many humans and going through security was a nightmare but I behaved and mummy was very pleased. Then we got on the plane and when it was taking off, my intestines twisted, my heart was racing like crazy, my eyes rolled from fear, but I felt mummy's hand, she rubbed my head, her hand was there for assurance till my heart slowed down and I fell asleep.

We arrived in Finland on a beautiful day at the beginning of March 2018, a new beginning for me, I loved the cold weather and the lovely people who welcomed me. I now live here with my sister Phoebe, I am so grateful for how life has turned out and would like to Thank every single human who was there through it all.

To the human who found me, The foster and adoptive mummies, and all who cat sat me in Abu Dhabi when mummies were on Holiday.

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY PAWS.
