Airport's Tales!

For once I am trying to nap at the gate while I await my next flight home which leaves in about an hour! How do people snore at airports! I am quite jealous of such people, People who can shut their eyes anywhere and disappear to slumber land!

My eyes closed, I hear the sound of high heels, I open one eye as if peeping, and catch a glimpse of a smartly dressed woman, limping forward in a hurry, kangaroo style! Her hand luggage dragging behind, why, oh why would you wear a 13 inch while you know you are gonna be rushing around in airports! It just doesn't make sense to me! Maybe if she was walking at ease, I wouldn't have to think if its sensible! But then again, how is that my problem:-)

I close my eye, and start singing myself to sleep! I am the kind of people who  talk themselves to sleep! 'Come on woman, sleeeeep sleeep, you need to sleeeep,' then i hear this mellowed bass announcing on missing passangers and giving them final warning, a Chinese man runs past like spiderman! It must be him, i tell myself and silently hope for him that he makes in before they offload his bags.
Between, that guy who was announcing should think of a career on radio.

Sleep Liz, sleeeeep sleeep! I continue to lie to myself. A thought crosses my mind, am in Europe, i get excited and start smiling. The couple sitted opposite me must think am weird, first i seriously eye a rushing woman one eyed! Now am smiling with my eyes closed! But i dont care, am extremly  excited.

I think oh how nice it felt to land, Freedom!! i tell myself! Till i get to go through security! Wow! What a check! Soon we shall be striping everything at airports and stand legs apart to be scanned! You laugh! But world peace is at risk and Germany takes security very seriously! The lady must have enjoyed searching me, the hands were too rough! Eish!

 I remembered the Café i walked in to have tea, they were playing soothing music, it felt so cosy and nice to sit there and watch humans do what they do at airports, it made me feel glad that i will not have to sit in queit cafes separating males and females! Thats right, any other music is not allowed in Cafes in Saudi Arabia! If you play, it has to be Arabic and religious! Gone are the days i tell you!

I open my eyes after 40 mins of trying to sleep and write this blog! I am coming home.....

Empower the girl child!

what is it that comes to my mind when i think about the girl child? Alot i could say! Alot! Me having being one of them, it saddens me how the girl child comes out as! well, sometimes we enjoy it we cant say we dont( esp for attention lovers! like me! ha!). Depending on which part of the world you grow up in and the way communities have valued the girl child. I was over the moon when saudi agreed to send the female team to the olympics(hands up men! good job well done). To believe that a woman's place is somewhere, at home, taking care of husband and children while the men explore the world is a totally unfair thing! Imagine the pressure on those women, to shine and show the world that they deserved that after fighting for long! And down in history it will go, that women did participate in the olympics and am soo glad it starts from here! Mamma: Fare thee well; our fallen Hero!

I met you just about 5 years ago, i remember that day clearly, a stormy snowy November Evening. We had driven to Perniö through this shit storm. You had waited for a while to meet me, so excited your daughter had found love again. You couldn't wait and had called a few times trying to find out how far we were. I was quite nervous on the other hand, i thought of the petty stupid things, i thought of my colour and my presentation and wondered if you would approve.
