The Big Move:

January 2014,while holidaying with my fabulous partner, somewhere in the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa, my partner And i really decided on getting serious with buying a home. We had thought about it sometime last year but it took sometime to actually gather the courage to apply for mortgage, go out and see houses on sale and actually choose one.

See, we were town girls, and were both brought up in small towns but as soon as age and freedom kicked in, we had disappeared and have lived in the city till we started missing the luxury out of city. We missed driving in our own compound, enjoying a drink in our own garden, and barbecue as the sun set in the late summer evenings.

In the city, We lived in a great place near the sea and had access to great cosy hang outs but after doing it all, we craved some change, they say change is good and believe them, it is good! After seeing some homes in the big cities, we had to set our priorities right. We did not want to have the neighbours so close you could smell their food or hear their discussions. We did not want to meet everyone in the shared parking lot. We wanted to make our own haven:-)

We did not want a huge mortgage because we wanted to still be able to travel as much and have a comfortable life. No, we did not want to pay for mortgage all our lives. So, we chose to move to this old house in a small town, we planned it all out the day we went to see it, we knew how we would make it and best of it chose to renovate it ourselves! And no, renovating it ourselves was not as easy as we thought.  We nearly put down the tools and walk away but there was a bigger reason that kept us on.

We could not wait to move and start out again. We excitedly packed everything and courageosly gave up our jobs.  I can tell its been a journey that is by day fullfilling our desires and that has crazily tested our patience. Will let you on with the processes and renovations on our beautiful home in the making:-)

Packing up:-)

A new beginning!:-)
