My Journey to Saudi Arabia: Farah Musroor.

Born in the vibrant, noisy and congested  city of Karachi, the capital of Pakistan, in the early 80's, Farah has found her way out and into Saudi Arabia. How? and Why? Is a question I end up asking her and many others as we all socialize and help each other live in this country known to the world as strict and with limited freedom of expression/speech not to mention the limited rights of women. Farah😊 Farah is the last born in a family of 7 siblings, her mother is a single mum after their dad passed on in early 2000. She comes from a middle-class family. Their eldest sister took up the responsibility of educating her siblings and was a great role model to them. It is a close knit family and everyone bears responsibility of the other, be it financially, emotionally or physical. It is a way of life in many Asian/ African households. Having lots of people around her, she had a good childhood, she was happy, supported and loved. In her younger years, all she dreamt of  wa...

Parents leaving their kids insearch of greener pastures!

If you come form a 3rd world country, then you know what i am talking about! This breaks my heart but unfortunately while some say fortunately, sometimes its the only way to get yourself and your kids out of poverty or for least to get them an education hoping that they can sort their lives. We all want whats best for our children and i can assure you that there is no parent in their right mind that would be content to leave their kids behind for no particular reason. She left her daughter in the Care of her mum, bless her! Most people in our new country did not understand why and how she could leave her kid behind, some even thought it was out of this world! But when you have it good and never walked in any of those shoes! Believe me you will never understand it! ...

CULTURE: Behaviors in pain management

I  am lucky enough to have gained most of my experience from a country of different culture form mine, I have been able to practice in my own country and am currently working in Arab world. My experience in behaviors relating to pain has been one of amazement, annoyance and sometimes laughter! We got to celebrate our cultures but I wish beyond that we would leave them at home when we decide to go visit the hospitals, because there you will be treated like a person! Everyone gets the label patient regardless of where you are from and who you are. European patient: I will particularly focus on Finland, having spent a decade there, I can tell you they are the most quiet or do I say shy people when sober, which they are all week. It is the hardest thing to break through a Finn but once you do, they are the easiest people to deal with. As a nurse, sometimes it's like studying a patient to know the exact level of their pain. They will look at you and tell you it's ok when you imagine...
